Today marks an extraordinary beginning for the union between digital technology and development efforts in Nigeria. As the launch of the social good Nigeria hub comes alive today, we are delighted to know that every sociopreneur, doing something for #SocialGood will be confident of the extra support they get from this platform, which in reality, is an inter-connectivity of people online and offline, challenging each other to deliver quality solutions to the problems that inhibit the overall development of Nigeria.
We are grateful to the Swedish Embassy, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and the people at +Social Good globally, who have provided the push needed to bring this to reality.
As the website go live and the hub goes official today, it is our hope that the good that emanates from Social Good Nigeria, will be for the good of mankind, and for the thinning of that line that separates digital technology from development.
Team Lead, Social Good Nigeria.
About Social Good Nigeria:
Social Good Nigeria is a networked community of innovators and socio-preneurs, leveraging on the explosive power of digital technology and a desire to collaborate for #SocialGood across Nigeria.
At Social Good Nigeria, there is a staunch believe that there are people across social and geo-political strata, with ingenious solutions for Nigeria’s seemingly daunting problems. Thus, their online platform provides a homely space for these discussions, problem-solving calculations, ideations and incubations that can drive global innovation at a local scale. The ultimate winner without a doubt, is Nigeria. These all, are coming on the back of their successful co-hosting of the first Social Good Summit, Abuja Meetup in 2013 with Team #AdoptATweep, with the theme “Development. Now. Tomorrow.”
They are inspired by the support from the +SocialGood global community, which fuels their desire to actualize transformative local actions in as many communities in Nigeria as possible.
