I recently had the pleasure of meeting Amir Aharoni who works as the Product Manager, Language, Wikimedia Foundation. It was a need inspired meeting as I was attending the Wikimedia Conference in Berlin, Germany and had as one of my expectations, to get sorted out with the Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba keyboard for my Mac Book.

Several weeks after the meeting and ensuing conversation, I am excited to announce that Amir delivered and it will be fun to share the product with you.

In his words, the product “implements a keyboard layout for macOS for the three major languages of Nigeria: Hausa, Igbo, and Yoruba.” He has graciously released the software under the CC0 1.0 Universal license. Feel free to use it, modify it, copy it and combine it with anything you want.

I am deeply thankful to Amir as this will help our work in the Wikimedia User Group Nigeria, exceedingly.
